Finance Specialist – Record to Report – 6 month FTC

Band D: £34,101 per annum

The teams across Finance Service Delivery process a range of financial transactions and ensure procedures and processes are followed to deliver a high-quality service to our clients. We now have a requirement on a fixed term contract basis, for an additional Finance Specialist to work primarily within Record to Report.
Duties
- Deliver end-to-end finance processes across relevant service areas (e.g. general ledger reconciliation, invoicing, payments, transactions or reporting), ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Produce and review financial outputs, such as reconciliations, journals, reports or returns, ensuring they meet defined standards and controls
- Investigate and resolve complex or non-routine financial issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
- Interpret and apply accounting principles, policies and controls to ensure consistent and compliant outcomes
- Take ownership of escalated queries and issues, ensuring timely resolution and appropriate escalation where required
- Provide advice, guidance and support to colleagues and stakeholders, including supporting less experienced team members
- Ensure adherence to SLAs, controls, governance and audit requirements across all finance activities
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, stakeholders and clients to resolve issues and deliver service outcomes
- Support audit and assurance activity, providing analysis, documentation and evidence as required
- Support system changes and improvements, including testing, implementation and service readiness activities
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of core finance processes (e.g. general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, transactions, reporting)
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls
- Ability to analyse financial data, identify discrepancies and resolve issues
- Experience using finance systems (e.g. ERP platforms such as Oracle, SAP, Workday or equivalent)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
