BSLS is a non‑profit that provides free cooking classes to children with disabilities. We seek U‑of‑T students (undergraduate or graduate) to serve as volunteer mentors, called "Big Spoons", who pair with children (“Lil Spoons”) and support them in cooking activities. You can participate even if you have no kitchen access.

Schedule: The winter session includes five virtual Zoom classes on Saturdays from 5:00 to 6:00 PM, starting January 31. No prior cooking experience required.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate a shared cooking experience for children with disabilities.
  • Guide children through lessons and assist them as needed.
  • Maintain a supportive, inclusive environment.

Qualifications:

  • U‑of‑T student of any level and faculty.
  • Enthusiastic and supportive.
  • Good communication skills.
