UKR Group is looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to start ASAP in a job in London.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate all groundworks activities on-site, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
  • Manage a team of groundworkers, plant operators, and subcontractors to deliver works to agreed deadlines and quality standards.
  • Interpret and implement engineering drawings, setting-out information, and method statements.
  • Monitor site progress, identifying and resolving any delays, defects, or technical issues.
  • Liaise with site management, engineers, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments in line with health and safety legislation.
  • Ensure the proper use, maintenance, and storage of tools, equipment, and plant.
  • Maintain accurate site records, including timesheets, delivery notes, and progress reports.
  • Ensure environmental standards are adhered to, including waste management and pollution prevention measures.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with proven experience supervising site operatives.
  • Excellent knowledge of groundworks techniques, including drainage, foundations, kerbing, paving, and service installation.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and set-out information.
  • Proficient understanding of health and safety regulations and site risk management.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Competent IT skills for site reporting and record-keeping.

Requirements:

  • CSCS card
  • SSSTS Card
  • First Aid
  • Proven experience as a Groundworks Supervisor or similar role within the construction industry.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of building regulations and health and safety legislation in the UK.
