UKR Group is recruiting a Site Manager on behalf of our client, a major main contractor delivering a flagship healthcare project in South Wales. This is a high-profile, long-term build, and we are looking for an experienced site manager to help drive it forward.
About the role:
The Site Manager is responsible for the day to day running of the site, coordinating operations, managing subcontractors and direct labour, and making sure all work is delivered safely, on programme and in line with the latest drawings and specifications.

Key responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the day to day running of the site
- Plan, coordinate and sequence works to hit programme and project milestones
- Manage and motivate subcontractors and the direct workforce to deliver daily and weekly targets
- Ensure only trained, competent and authorised people complete tasks and operate equipment, identifying training needs as they arise
- Identify and escalate any delays or risks to senior management
- Lead on safety, drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies and standards
- Keep the site clean, organised and well managed
- Implement and monitor Quality Assurance across the site team
- Manage delegated resources such as budgets, equipment and contracts to ensure value for money
- Lead by example and drive continuous improvement
Essential criteria:
- Right to work in the UK
- Degree in Construction Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years in a site management role
- Confident assuming responsibility for decision making on site
- Strong leadership, teamwork and communication skills
- Good analytical and organisational ability
- Sound knowledge of construction statutory procedures, with particular reference to Health and Safety
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
- SMSTS, valid CSCS card and first aid certification are advantageous
