Title
Design Manager
We have a new opportunity for a Design Manager to support the delivery of an extensive programme of work comprising of new build facilities and refurbishment.
The purpose of the role is to manage the delivery and co-ordinate the technical engineering work packages to required scope, quality, schedule, and cost. This will include planning for and supporting integration with internal project stakeholder groups as well as external customer stakeholder groups.
What Do We Need
The Design Manager must be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge and skills required in the technical management of large scale and complex design development throughout the design lifecycle.
A sound understanding of engineering design and safety practice as relevant to discipline, post and project requirements.
- Experience of working in BIM environments.
- Project specification, planning, project management and budgeting experience.
- An understanding of Company and departmental procedures relating to Design, Health & Safety (including Principal Designer responsibilities under CDM) and Quality requirements.
- Experience of the design support to construction, operation, refit/repair of conventional and nuclear submarines and/or facilities.
Qualifications
A degree in an appropriate engineering discipline.
Chartered Engineer, registered with Engineering Council.
Location
The role will be primarily based in Glasgow City Centre with occasional site visits to the Helensburgh and Abbey Wood locations.
Security Requirements
You must have, or be eligible for, SC clearance.
