Our client is a growing UK-based data integration and software business, hiring a Business Development Manager to drive new business across telecommunications, IT networks and BFSI verticals. This is a hunter seat with end-to-end ownership: prospect to closure, working alongside marketing on Go-To-Market campaigns and handing customers cleanly to Customer Success. This is not a generalist sales role. We need someone who has genuinely sold modern data infrastructure or data integration solutions to technical stakeholders — Heads of Data Engineering, Data Platform Leads, CDOs, Chief Architects — and who can hold their own in a conversation about how enterprise data pipelines actually work.
What you will do:
- Own a new business pipeline from prospecting to close
- Engage senior technical and commercial decision-makers
- Run GTM campaigns alongside marketing
- Lead technical and commercial engagements with prospects
- Maintain a clean pipeline in CRM (Zoho)
- Represent at industry conferences
Essential:
- You will have held a closing sales seat (BDM, AE, Sales Director or equivalent) at a modern data infrastructure or data integration vendor
- Your primary buyer audience is technical stakeholders (Heads of Data, CDOs, Chief Architects, Principal Data Engineers)
- You can fluently discuss enterprise data pipelines: ELT vs ETL, dbt models, ingestion, transformation, orchestration, schema evolution, CDC, and batch vs streaming trade-offs
- You have a documented track record of closing multi-million-pound deals
- You have direct sales experience in telecommunications, IT network configurations, or BFSI; GSI experience serving those verticals also accepted
Preferred:
- Software Partner Channel experience
- Zoho CRM administration
- Willingness to travel to UK and European industry conferences
Location: UK Remote. Right to work in the UK required.
