Role Overview

We are seeking a talented and driven Social Media Manager to lead and expand our social media operations targeting the Chinese market. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategy, execution, and management of Chinese social media accounts (including Xiaohongshu, WeChat Channels, and Douyin) for our school clients and partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement social marketing strategies for UK independent schools across Chinese social media platforms.
  • Manage and grow official accounts on Xiaohongshu, WeChat Video Channels, and Douyin for our client schools and educational organisations.
  • Coordinate creation of engaging multimedia content (copywriting, editing, short videos, graphics) tailored to target Chinese audiences.
  • Track, analyse, and report on campaign effectiveness, providing insights to improve reach and engagement.
  • Liaise with partner schools, education groups, and stakeholders in the UK and China.
  • Stay up to date with latest platform algorithms, trends, and compliance requirements for Chinese social media.
  • Build and maintain influencer and partner networks to grow online presence.
  • Support digital marketing training for UK school staff as required.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge and proven hands-on experience in operating official accounts on Chinese social media platforms, especially Xiaohongshu, WeChat Video Channels, and Douyin.
  • Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English, with excellent communication and copywriting skills in Mandarin.
  • Track record of growing audience and managing campaigns on Chinese social media platforms.
  • Strong network/relationships with media companies, KOLs, influencers, or agencies in the Chinese digital sphere.
  • Good understanding of Chinese social media content regulations and cultural nuances.
  • Ability to independently plan, execute and coordinate multi-platform campaigns.
  • Creative, proactive, detail-oriented and able to work in a collaborative environment.

Preferred

  • Previous experience promoting education-related brands, organisations, or education influencers.
