About you
We are looking for a creative and organised Content & Marketing Senior Officer to join our small but busy communications team. This is a hands‑on role that sits at the heart of how Ukie communicates with its members, stakeholders, and the wider industry. You will be responsible for managing and growing Ukie's social media presence, producing and distributing our marcomms and newsletters, and keeping our member‑facing content up to date. You will be a confident writer with an eye for engaging content, and you will understand how to tailor messaging for different audiences and channels. You will also support our events activity on the ground, with travel to conferences, receptions and sector events as required.
What you’ll be doing
- Social Media
- Day‑to‑day management of Ukie's social media channels, including LinkedIn, Bluesky and YouTube.
- Planning and scheduling content in line with Ukie's communications calendar and wider campaigns.
- Writing compelling, on‑brand copy suited to each platform and its audience.
- Monitoring engagement, responding to comments and messages, and reporting on channel performance.
- Identifying opportunities to grow Ukie's presence and reach new audiences.
- Attending Ukie events and industry conferences to support communications activity.
- Capturing content on the ground, including written updates and social media posts.
- Photography and basic photo editing at events (desirable).
- Newsletters & Marcomms
- Work with individual project/activity leads to develop and deploy marketing plans for key activities, launches etc.
- Work across the team to build Ukie’s impact and reach through lead generation and key account management.
- Writing, editing and distributing Ukie's member newsletters, including What's On.
- Managing distribution lists in CRM and ensuring content is accurate, timely and relevant.
- Coordinating contributions from colleagues and external partners to include in targeted marcomms.
- Supporting broader stakeholder communications work as required.
- Website & Member Hub
- Uploading and updating content to the Ukie website, including news, resources and member hub updates.
- Ensuring all published content is accurate, well‑formatted and in line with brand guidelines.
- Working with colleagues to keep member‑facing information current and useful.
Person Specification
Essential
- Proven experience managing social media channels in a professional context, ideally including LinkedIn.
- Excellent written English with the ability to write clearly, accurately and engagingly for different audiences.
- Experience writing or editing newsletters or email communications.
- Experience with social media channel management.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Comfortable uploading and managing content via a CMS or similar platform.
- A collaborative team player who can also work independently.
- Enthusiasm for the games and interactive entertainment industry, or a willingness to learn quickly.
- Familiarity with tools such as Canva, Adobe Lightroom, or similar.

- Photography skills and the ability to edit images for digital and social use.
- Experience working in a trade association, membership organisation or similar environment.
- Knowledge of the UK games or creative industries landscape.

Hours of Work
Working hours are 9.00am to 5.30pm, with an early finish of 4.30pm on Fridays. There may be a requirement to work occasional evenings and weekends to support and attend events, depending on business needs.
This role profile is not exhaustive; it will be subject to periodic review and may be amended to meet the changing needs of the business. The post holder will be expected to participate in this process, and we would aim to reach agreement to the changes.
