Seeking support worker to support eldest son (12) in caring family. He has acquired brain injury with multiple sensory impairments and learning disabilities. Despite being complex, he has the most wicked personality and ability to make us smile on the daily with his cheekiness! It is a challenging role and no two days are the same.
He has a round the clock team of staff (2-1) and night care.
He has a schooling team (5 hours Monday – Friday) and a social care package.
His schooling is very much bespoke to him with multi-agency therapy (SALT, physio, OT, Equine, music and hydrotherapy) and is home‑based with some learning time @ threeways.
We are seeking staff to join us for maternity cover (from end of April but immediate start is preferred to build relationships and trust).
Rate of pay is currently set at £16.80 ph for the school hours (5 hours) plus 12 weeks holiday and the social care aspect is £14 ph. Range of shifts available.
Skills needed for the role:
- must be able to make up songs on the spot!
- must have good memory to recite stories!
- must be able to have fun even on a rainy day
