We’re looking for a friendly, upbeat person to join our small team supporting an older gentleman in the Yarm area. You’ll be helping him stay independent in his much-loved family home, and you’ll be joining a welcoming group of personal assistants who already support him.

Our client has a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s, so if you have experience or a good understanding of dementia or mental health, that would be a bonus—but it’s absolutely not essential. What matters most is kindness, patience, and a positive approach.

What the role involves:

  • Helping him get out and about in the community, including shopping trips
  • Offering support with simple DIY tasks around the home
  • Light housework
  • Providing companionship and a friendly face

A few extra details:

  • The working day will be either Monday or Tuesday, agreed during the interview
  • A driving licence and your own transport are essential
