I am a 38-year-old male with Autism, learning difficulties and medication-controlled Epilepsy. Although I am able to live independently and can appear quite able, I benefit from support to help encourage me to achieve my potential and ease my dependence on my sister, who is my main carer.

I am looking for a Personal Assistant who is pro-active, reliable, enthusiastic and friendly to assist me with day-to-day tasks and build a rapport with. I would like someone to help support me to live a healthy and active lifestyle through diet planning and activities such as walking and swimming. I have 2 cats who are important in my life. I have an interest in music, playing guitar, keyboard and drums. I have a keen interest in gaming on the X-Box.

As my Personal Assistant your role is to provide me with the support that I need. The support required is outlined in my support plan which has been compiled by myself, my care manager, and my sister, who is my main carer. These tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Meal planning
  • Shopping
  • Supporting me to complete housework

It is your responsibility to be proactive and encourage me to follow my support plan and live an independent and healthy lifestyle. The types of tasks that I might need help with are listed below. This list is not exhaustive, and I may need help with things that are not listed below. Communication with my main carer (my sister) is essential to ensure I am supported effectively.
