Self Employed Care Assistant for a lady 24hr @ £18.92/ph in Berwick-upon-Tweed. A mature retired professional lady is looking for two efficient support assistants who are able to drive to provide domestic assistance in the Berwick area. She has limited mobility and chronic health issues and requires support with daily living tasks within her own home. The individual is interested in animals, art, the outdoors and nature and would prefer somebody with similar interests. Must be pet friendly as she has cats and dogs.

Hours of Work: 24 hours over 3 days for each worker although flexibility is possible. Additional hours may also be available as well as sickness/holiday cover. Self Employed individuals are preferred. Part time will be considered.

Rate of Pay: £18.92 per hour (employed rate).

Main Duties:

  • Prompt to take medication as prescribed
  • Assist with washing/drying hair
  • Assist with preparation for bath and subsequent associated cleaning of bathroom
  • Meal preparation and associated tasks
  • Assist with shopping and managing kitchen cupboards
  • Enabling to go out in the community including driving
  • Assist with use of wheelchair
  • Various regular basic domestic tasks
  • Assist with paperwork management
  • Assist with some simple computer use

Further Information: An Enhanced Certificate of Disclosure (DBS) will have to be obtained for the successful candidate (at employer’s expense). Work will include some weekends and early evenings and hours may vary week to week although fixed basic hours can be arranged to suit.

Training: All tasks can be taught and guided by the employer, but relevant experience is desirable; no specific qualification is essential. Where required, such as in Health and Safety matters, practical training and guidance will be arranged, and the care worker will be expected to attend.
