Job Purpose: I am a partially paralysed young man who is looking for someone to provide me with support with day-to-day tasks, hobbies and social activities. I am determined to have the best chance of recovery and the best quality of life and you would be helping me towards achieving this goal.
Location: South Norfolk, NR14
Details:
- Assisting in all matters of personal care, including, dressing/undressing, washing, bathing and using toilet facilities
- Assisting with the preparation, cooking and serving of meals, snacks and drinks
- Carrying out general housework as required, including changing beds, laundry, ironing, tidying and light cleaning duties
- Providing companionship and mental stimulation, including participating in activities as required by the service user, including games, hobbies or other recreational activities
- Providing a chaperone service to drive the service user to appointments, day trips, outings, shopping or any other general errands outside the home
- Encouraging and overseeing the management of any medication or administering such medication where necessary and required
- Monitoring of health-related conditions such as diet and fluids, keeping records where required
- Ensuring relevant notes, information and records are kept and maintained and handovers are duly carried out to pass on relevant information where necessary
- Responding to any emergency within a timely and efficient manner
- Reporting progress and any concerns to parents

Summary terms and conditions:
- Rate of pay for this position is £14.73 per hour
- Hours and times of work: 10 hours per week, usually weekends but may also need to cover weekdays late afternoons which would be advised ahead of time. You would also provide cover for the existing PA when on leave.
- Annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks
- This position requires the employee to complete the following free annual training:
- GDPR, Health and Safety, First Aid, COSHH, Moving and Handling, Personal Care, Risk Assessment
Post is subject to the following:
- A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer
- Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer
- Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months
