HOURS: 4 hours a week (usually weekends, weekdays possible during school holidays)

RATE OF PAY: £12.40/hour

LOCATION: LS17 8, Based initially at home and moving forward in the community

PURPOSE OF JOB: To support my 7 year old son who has autism and communication difficulties. He is an affectionate little boy who is able to communicate his wants and needs through single words but needs encouragement to expand his language. This is a great opportunity to share meaningful experiences with a wonderful young boy and to enhance your CV.

MAIN DUTIES: I would first like the PA to support him in home so they can build up a relationship. This would involve doing a variety of activities including playing, drawing, singing nursery rhymes etc. Moving forward, I would like to build this up to playing in the garden with my son and taking him out to the park, soft play area etc.

The PA must have experience working with SEN children, be punctual, honest and fun loving and be mindful of my son’s safety at all times, as he has no sense of danger at all. The PA must supervise my son at all times and do not allow him to be alone.
