Overview
Personal Assistant (PA) β Support for a young man with autism and learning disabilities. Pay: Β£12.60 per hour. Hours: 4 hours per week (preferably Saturday morning, some flexibility β Saturday afternoon or Sunday possible). Start date: ASAP. Location: Bristol.
About the Role
You will provide companionship and practical support to help him enjoy his interests, stay active, and access the community. Tasks include:
- Supporting with walks, exercise, and activities in the community
- Attending events, outings and visiting cafes
- Providing prompts with light domestic tasks
- Encouraging hobbies such as playing clarinet, music, TV (especially Doctor Who), sewing, and other leisure activities
There is also the potential for additional hours, to support occasional short breaks or weekend away support.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Friendly, patient, and able to provide encouragement.
- Interested in supporting someone to live an active and fulfilling life.
- Knowledge of autism and learning disabilities preferable
- Reliable and flexible with availability
- Ideally male, though female applicants will also be considered.
Previous experience of supporting people with learning disabilities or autism is welcome but not essential β an empathetic and willingness to learn are most important.
