We are looking for a kind, patient and enthusiastic person to support our wonderful 7-year-old autistic and non-verbal daughter. She has a fantastic personality, loves exploring the world in her own way and thrives with people who are calm, patient, fun and happy to build trust at her pace. Initially, the role will involve supporting Mum during outings and activities rather than providing one-to-one childcare. We're looking for someone who can become another trusted adult in her life. Hours are flexible, primarily weekdays during the school holidays, with occasional weekends and evenings.

- Sensory activities
- Banham Zoo and other local attractions
- Soft play
- Trampoline time
- Community outings
- Family days out
- Sitting together to "scribe"-drawing and writing the things that capture Madeline's imagination from her favourite books and iPad
We're looking for someone who is:
- Kind, patient and reliable.
- Calm and positive.
- Happy to build a long-term relationship.
- Passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
- Loves adventures and the outdoors
- Ideally holds a full clean driving licence and has access to a car insured for work purposes.
Experience as a Teaching Assistant or within a SEND setting would be highly desirable, although the right personality is just as important.
Summary Terms and Conditions
- The rate of pay for this position is £15.00 per hour
- Hours are flexible, primarily weekdays during the school holidays, with occasional weekends and evenings.
- The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
- Access to free Care Skills training for employed workers.
The post is subject to the following:
- A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
- Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
- Completion of a satisfactory probation period of 3 months.
