Job purpose: To assist with a variety of tasks which will enable/assist the employer/person who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests.
About the employer: 19 years of male, Chibuikem has no pets; hobbies are writing rap music. Sickle cell disease and learning difficulties.
Main duties:
- Social duties, for example, support to keep in touch and socialise with family and friends
- Attend adult education classes
- Attend medical appointments
- Do hobbies such as going to the gym and exercise walks
- Attend social events such as music gigs or the cinema
- Attend work and some church gatherings
- Chibuikem only needs prompting and reminding; he is able to do most personal care things by himself. May need help with performing exercises/physiotherapy & ensuring he takes the correct medication at the right time intervals. To keep hydrated, wear appropriate clothing during seasonal changes and also needs help with his time management.
- Domestic duties, for example, support with grocery shopping, cooking and serving nutritious meals and snacks, cleaning, changing linen, laundry, ironing and gardening. These duties may vary from day to day and may need help with all these at intervals of times when his parent/carers are away.
Type of person that you/they are looking for: carer who does not smoke or vape. Honest, reliable, punctual, non-judgemental, ability to build good relationships based on trust and respect, flexible, adaptable, easy going, able to work alone, positive, willingness to travel, understands equality and diversity or has a good sense of humour. PA with an understanding of a specific condition, or has a shared language or customs (this could help, but not mandatory).
