Carer wanted for my 81‑year‑old mother who has dementia, in our bungalow in Earlham NR5 for Friday, Saturday and or Sunday, 10am to 6pm. My mother is an amazing woman who spoke 7 languages and went out of her way to help anyone. We are looking for an equally amazing carer that has an open mind, patience, positive energy and a real desire to care. A sense of humour will definitely help.
Healthy meal preparation is part of the job. My mother isn’t on any medication, and we plan to keep it medication‑free for as long as possible. Therefore a healthy diet, ensuring she is fed and hydrated through the day, is paramount. Being active is a must; my mother loves to walk and dance, and requires at least 1 hour of walking per day (typically over two walks). We are looking for someone permanent.
Duties to include:
- Washing
- Dressing
- Cleaning
- Taking my mother for a walk
- Preparing nutritious meals
- Helping with feeding
- Providing companionship
- Housekeeping
- Laundry
Hours: Friday, Saturday and Sunday only, 10am to 6pm for 8‑hour shifts. Some overnights available 6pm to 10am occasionally. We as a family really need reliability and structure, and so require a person that helps us bring this to the house in their care and actions and demeanor. We have a calm and friendly family home that includes myself, a 9‑year‑old daughter who is super friendly and funny, and my mother. We are really looking for someone who brings stability to help us manage a situation that we never thought we would be in.
There is no medication currently for my mother, and we plan to keep her life medication‑free unless essential. Interaction, nutritious diet, healthy environment with fresh air and exercise are priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meal Preparation
- Personal Care
- Domestic Care Training
- Moving & Handling
