Job Description: Social care work opportunity for a Personal Assistant. We are looking for a caring and reliable Personal Assistant to support a 16‑year‑old boy with complex health and mobility needs, providing his family with valuable respite. The role involves supporting him at home and out in the community during evenings and school holidays. He is non‑verbal, enjoys trains, and requires gentle, attentive support from someone who is patient and confident in providing personal care.

Location: Norwich, NR5

Details:

  • Personal care, including feeding and changing pads
  • Hoisting for transfers (training can be arranged)
  • Supporting him during community outings or activities he enjoys
  • Offering supervision and always ensuring his safety

Personal Specification:

  • Flexible and reliable

Summary Terms and Conditions:

  • The rate of pay for this position is £13.00 per hour
  • Hours and times of work as follows: Up to 12 hrs monthly, evenings and school holidays. Flexible, to discuss at interview stage.
  • The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
  • Access to free Care Skills training for employed workers.
  • The post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
  • Completion of a satisfactory probation period of 6 months.
