Support Worker required to support a lady who has autism who lives in the Newton Aycliffe area. We are looking for someone to provide support with everyday activities for a lady who suffers from anxiety and would benefit from support and encouragement around everyday tasks and trips into the community.

Hours / Wage: 6 hours per week, £13.50 per hour. 3 days per week, 2 hours per day. There is flexibility about which days are worked and this can be discussed prior to and during interview. Hours would be either morning or afternoon. The hours could possibly be condensed into two days of three hours for the right applicant, but this would need to be discussed prior to/during interview. Please indicate on your application any days/times you would not be available to work.

Duties:

  • One day will be used to support and prompt to engage with personal care tasks. This might include help around the kitchen or other areas of the home, organising medication, assisting with paperwork.
  • Another day is to support client to access the local community, for example with shopping, attending classes, taking to swimming.

Additional Requirements/Information:

  • Experience in working with people with autism/mental health issues preferred.
  • Car owner with own vehicle required.
  • Enhanced DBS will be required, employer will cover the cost.
