We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Personal Assistant to support an individual with Global Aphasia. This is a rewarding role for someone patient, understanding, and able to provide consistent, person-centred care.
About the Role
The client has global aphasia and limited verbal communication. The successful candidate will need to communicate clearly, slowly, and use simple language. The client also has right-sided paralysis and is insulin-dependent diabetic.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day personal support and assistance.
- Communicate effectively using clear and simple language.
- Support mobility and accompany the client on activities, including long walks (often 6+ miles).
- Meal preparation and light house work.
- Ensure the client’s safety, comfort, and wellbeing at all times.
Working Hours
Monday: 9:00am – 3:00pm
Tuesday: 9:00am – 3:00pm
Wednesday: 9:00am – 1:00pm
Occasional Fridays as required.
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (mileage will be reimbursed).
- DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Experience in care or support work is desirable but not essential.
- Patient, reliable, and empathetic nature.
- Physically able to support long walks.
Pay & Benefits
£13.54 per hour.
5.6 weeks annual leave (pro rata).
Mileage expenses covered.
