We are looking for a kind, reliable and compassionate female to support our adult daughter, who is autistic and also experiences complex mental illnesses including an eating disorder, OCD, anxiety and depression. This role is focused on improving quality of life, reducing isolation and supporting positive day to day engagement, building a supportive and trusting relationship, encouraging confidence, routine, independence and enjoyable activities both at home and in the community. This is not primarily a personal care role, although some light practical support may occasionally be helpful.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Female, ideally aged 25-40 or young at heart
  • Preferably a driver with access to a car
  • Calm, patient, empathetic and understanding of the situation
  • Able to build rapport in a gentle, non-judgmental way
  • Enjoys craft, music, current affairs
  • Will be comfortable around the family dog

Experience supporting individuals with autism, eating disorders, OCD, anxiety and depression would be highly valued. However, for the right person, training and guidance can be provided. DBS will be completed prior to starting the role.
