Job Purpose: I am a 22-year-old autistic man looking for someone to support me for two afternoons a week. I need help with learning life skills in the community, accessing services and facilities, gaining confidence, and attending to my hobbies such as photography and attending groups of interest. I would also like support with learning to budget independently. I am a selective mute and struggle communicating with others; I would like to build rapport and confidence and find activities that give meaningful use of my time, learning independence and eventually finding voluntary work. I get on best with males of a similar age to me, but once I get used to you I will get along with anyone. I struggle with sensory issues, loud noises and how things feel. Unexpected noises such as sirens and motorbikes can cause me to lockdown; you will therefore need to be able to support me in these situations.

Summary Terms and Conditions
The rate of pay for this position is £12.89 per hour (raising to £12.89 from 06-04-26). Hours and times of work: 7 hours per week, split into two afternoons; exact timing will be discussed at the interview. The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work normally expected to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks. This position requires the employee to complete the following free annual training: GDPR and Health and Safety. Post is subject to the following: a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer; satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer; completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months.
