We are looking for a kind and reliable Home Care Worker to support a female client living in a small village around 15 minutes north of Alnwick. This is a highly valued role where you will be making a real difference every day.

The client has Batten’s disease, a progressive and life-limiting illness. She is unable to see, communicate, or move independently and relies completely on others for her care. Because of this, she needs patient, compassionate support and lots of reassurance throughout the day.

Pay and Training

  • Excellent hourly rate of £18.40
  • Equipment and specialist training provided, including use of a hoist, PEG feeding, and medication administration

Main Duties

  • Providing personal care (all aspects, with mobile hoist and 2 carers for transfers)
  • Preparing and supporting with a pureed diet, feeding and drinking safely, and monitoring choking risks
  • Administering medication safely, including via PEG, and completing records
  • Supporting with household tasks such as laundry, bed changes, and ensuring the wet room is clean and safe
  • Assisting with medication collection and attending hospital appointments when needed

About You

  • Previous homecare experience is preferred, but training will be provided
  • Caring, patient, and understanding nature
  • Honest, punctual and trustworthy
  • Committed to confidentiality and high-quality care
