A higher hourly rate is available for self-employed carers, reflecting that they are responsible for their own holiday provision, National Insurance, pension arrangements, and other employment-related costs. Self-employed carers must also demonstrate that they are fully ensured, and registered with HMRC.

Employees receive these benefits through their employment package, which is reflected in the employed rate.

Hours & Days of Work

Hours of work will be 10 hours per week on a flexible schedule to be discussed at interview.

Although the role is funded for 15 hours per week, the successful applicant should be aware that hours may start lower and increase gradually as the service user builds confidence and adjusts to receiving support from a Personal Assistant.
