Personal Assistant for a person with physical & mental health needs. Part time – set 30 hours/week – £15.60/hr. Additional hours may occasionally be required to cover holiday. We are a small team that provides high‑quality support for an individual with physical and mental learning disabilities, enabling her to live safely, comfortably and with dignity in her own home. Support focuses on personal care, health and medical needs, daily living activities, cooking, social activities and engaging activities at home. Ensure the home environment is clean, safe and comfortable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow individual care plans, risk assessments and health protocols.
  • Assist with personal hygiene and dressing.
  • Support with medication.
  • Promote independence and choice wherever possible.
  • Encourage engagement in preferred activities and community outings.
  • Record health information, behaviour patterns and report concerns promptly to the Team Leader.
  • Provide behavioural & emotional support: reassurance, calming strategies, recognizing behaviours, positive behaviour support techniques.
  • Use knowledge of verbal communication and behavioural cues to meet her needs.
  • Support social inclusion and community access while managing risks and triggers.
  • Promote dignity, respect and choice at all times.
  • Work in line with the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Equality Act 2010.
  • Safeguard the individual from harm, abuse or neglect.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Maintain accurate daily notes, medication records and incident reports.
  • Ensure risk assessments and care plans are followed and updated as directed.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in care with mental health.
  • Must hold a UK driver’s licence.
  • Must be female, as dealing with a female client.

Transportation

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Can drive a motability equipped car
