Location: BRISTOL, BS9

Pay: £12.60/hour PLUS 40p per mile petrol cost

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Various but mainly Sunday 10-3.30 (with possibility for additional weekend cover and occasional trips away for sporting competitions during the summer)

Hello, my name is Ellie. I am a positive, intelligent, sporty adult who is looking for an outgoing, friendly, energetic and professional person to provide physical support at athletic events and training throughout the year. This exciting opportunity is to assist me to attend training (Yate or Gloucester) and to participate in athletics (frame running) competitions across the UK (mainly in the South West).

A typical session will involve driving me to various training venues (Yate or Gloucester) and assisting me track side. Must be prepared for all weathers. I will then need support to return home to Bristol (my wheelchair will require transportation with us), so access to your own vehicle and being a confident driver is essential. Occasionally, in the summer, there will be ad-hoc competitions/events further afield (up to 3 hours motorway drive away) which I will need assistance at.

Light housework and meal preparation at the end of the session will be required. No experience necessary as training will be provided. This rewarding position may suit someone who has a second job or anyone who wants to make a real difference.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meal Preparation
  • Social Leisure activities
  • Support to remain independent
  • Transportation
  • Full UK driving license
  • Own personal car

Duties:

  • All training given
  • Lifting of equipment (wheelchair/bike/sports frame)
  • Cleaning and light housework as directed
  • Ensuring water bottles are replenished
  • Assisting me to pack/unpack bag
  • Assisting me with putting ankle supports/shoes on
  • Transporting me and others when required
  • To maintain my confidentiality at all times
