Personal Assistant Required - Redcar Area
Hours: Tuesday day shift plus 4 night shifts per month and additional holiday/sickness cover
Rate of Pay: £13.35 per hour
Location: Redcar
Funding: Direct Payments (paid 4-weekly)
A rewarding opportunity has arisen for a reliable, compassionate, and enthusiastic Personal Assistant to join an established support team assisting a young lady with disabilities who lives independently in the Redcar area.
This role would suit someone who is naturally caring, patient, and committed to providing person-centred support that promotes independence, dignity, wellbeing, and enjoyment of everyday life.
About the Role
The successful candidate will provide support with all aspects of daily living and personal care. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who is keen to develop their skills whilst making a genuine difference to someone’s life.
The lady enjoys an active lifestyle and regularly attends the Senses Wellbeing Centre several times a week. As part of the role, you will support her to access the community, attend activities, and enjoy the things that are important to her. Therefore, applicants must be confident drivers and willing to drive the lady’s van.
Shift Pattern
- Day Shift: 9:00am to 4:00pm
- Weekday Evening Shift: 4:00pm to 9:00am
- Weekend Evening Shift: 6:00pm to 10:00am
The vacancy currently includes:
- Tuesday day shift
- Four evening shifts per month
- Additional holiday and sickness cover as required
Flexibility to cover additional shifts when needed would be advantageous.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Warm, friendly, and approachable
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Patient, positive, and encouraging
- Able to build a supportive relationship at a pace that is comfortable for the lady
- Confident supporting a young adult with learning disabilities
- Able to provide clear boundaries whilst remaining caring and supportive
- Flexible and adaptable in their approach to support
- A confident driver with a full driving licence
Due to the lady’s speech and language difficulties, it is essential that applicants can communicate in clear and fluent English.
Previous experience in care or supporting individuals with learning disabilities is desirable, although full training will be provided for the right person.
