I am a fun loving active young lady who has Cerebral Palsy. I use a powered wheelchair to be both independent and mobile. I live in my own adapted home and require 2:1 support to enable me to maintain my independence by supporting me with my day to day living activities and my personal care. I have a lively personality and have a wicked sense of humour. I enjoy an excellent social life and will require you to drive my wheelchair adapted vehicle to enable me to meet with friends, go shopping and enjoy my sports interests which include swimming and Boccia.
Due to my personal care needs, I require applications from Female only applicants as this position is exempt from the Equality Act 2010.
JOB PROFILE:My needs vary daily but the following brief points outline the support I will need:
- To help and support me to be as independent as possible.
- To live in my home with me on a rota basis (Own accommodation provided).
- To carry out transfers to and from my wheelchair using both tracked and mobile hoists.
- To assist with all my personal cares, for instance, daily dressing, bathing, showering.
- To administer and record my prescribed medication.
- To support my daily physio programmes and weekly swimming sessions.
- To prepare my meals and drinks, and assist me in eating and drinking them.
- To support me with washing and ironing of my clothing and other laundry.
- To maintain my household by assisting me with shopping, cleaning, and relevant household tasks.
- To assist me with appointments inside and outside of the home.
- To support my social activities including eating and drinking out, swimming, and socializing.
- To drive me in my wheelchair accessible vehicle, locally, regionally, and nationally.
- To support me on overnight trips away and holidays at home and abroad.
- To support me budget my income and pay my living expenses.
- Other required tasks relevant to caring and supporting me to live independently.
- To work flexibly to meet my support needs within the terms of contract.
- To complete and maintain training relevant to this post.
