Reporting to – Karen Myland

Job Purpose – To take our son on day trips out during school holidays, to help develop his independence skills in the community.

About the employer – Charlie is our 18-year-old son who has Autism and learning disabilities along with sensory and communication problems. He is an easy going happy young man, with a good sense of humour.

Main duties – To take Charlie on full day trips out, such as going to the seaside, Stockeld Park and other places which are of interest to Charlie.

Type of person we are looking for – We are looking for someone easy going with a sense of humour, who is reliable, punctual and honest, who is also non-judgemental and understands equality and diversity and able to build good relationships based on trust and respect.

What you can expect to receive –

  • Competitive rates of pay

  • Any entrance fees and petrol money to be paid by the employer

Hours of work – 7 to 8 hours 3 days a week in the school holidays. The days are flexible to be mutually agreed.

Rates of Pay – Mon – Fri £12.60 per hour, Sat – Sun £15.69 per hour

Essential requirements:

  • Driving License
  • Car Business insurance
  • Is able to swim
  • Is able to accompany Charlie on theme park rides and other activities

Preferred requirement – Experience of supporting people with learning disabilities and Autism.
