We are looking for a patient, supportive and encouraging PA Support Worker to assist a 45-year-old man with sensory impairment, epilepsy and short-term memory loss in developing life skills and maintaining independence at home. This role is focused on empowerment, building confidence and supporting him with day-to-day practical skills, not doing everything for him, but guiding him to do things with support.

What the role includes:

  • Supporting him to prepare simple meals and learn basic cooking skills
  • Helping him use household appliances such as the washing machine
  • Taking him to purchase essential personal care items
  • Light shopping trips
  • Supporting hobbies and interests at home
  • Domestic tasks on Sundays: cleaning, ironing, laundry and general organisation
  • Encouraging independence wherever possible

This is a calm, home-based role, ideal for someone who is reliable, patient and naturally encouraging.

Hours: 15 hours per week • Tuesday – 5 hours • Saturday – 5 hours • Sunday – 5 hours

Pay: £14 per hour. All relevant expenses covered.

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting someone with disabilities (essential)
  • Patient, empathetic and comfortable giving gentle guidance
  • Able to work independently and follow routines
  • Enhanced DBS or willingness to complete one
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
