A Social Care opportunity has become available to work as part of a small team, as a Personal Care Assistant for a lady in West Dereham.

Location: West Dereham, PE33

Details:

  • Support will be required to help with daily living activities.
  • Personal care: Assist with tasks like showering, drying, dressing, applying creams.
  • Meal preparation: Preparing, cooking and serving meals.
  • Household tasks: Assist with housekeeping: hoovering, washing floors, dusting, and washing clothes.

Person specification:

  • Female carer due to personal care aspects of the position (Schedule 9, P1 of the Equality Act 2010 applies).
  • Must be flexible.
  • Must be reliable.
  • Patient and respectful.
  • Advantage to have similar experience working in a similar role, but not essential. Training can be provided.

Summary terms and conditions:

  • The rate of pay for this position is £14 per hour for employed PA and £16.89 for self-employed PA.
  • Hours and times of work: Between 8-20 plus hours during the week, which will include some weekends, and to cover any sickness and holidays, days advised ahead of time. Work hours would be: morning 09:30-12:30, lunch time 14:30-15:30 and tea time 17:00-18:00.
  • Other duties will be discussed if/when deemed appropriate but everything that will be expected will be explained prior to acceptance of the position.
  • The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
  • Access to free training for employed workers.
  • Manual Handling, Handling of hazardous chemicals and/or Food Handling you will be required to undertake annual training.

Post requirements:

  • A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
  • Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
  • Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months.
