Female Personal Care Assistant for a lady with multiple complex needs, non-verbal communication, epilepsy, double incontinence and is paraplegic. The lady lives in Newton Aycliffe. The role will be part of a two-person care team at all times.
Hours: Alternative weeks, day shift/night shift. 36 hours/week day shift & 35 hours/week night shift. Flexibility is required to cover carer holidays and respite cover for parents.
Rate of pay: £13.50 per hour weekdays & £16.00 per hour weekends.

- Holiday entitlement: 5.6 weeks pro rata

Duties:
- All personal hygiene, ensuring cleanliness and skin care at all times, necessitating moving to the shower bed prior to showering, using ceiling track hoist.
- Bowel management, requiring daily suppositories.
- Continual monitoring of the client's body position and clothing to ensure skin integrity.
- Moving from bed to wheelchair and vice versa using powered ceiling hoist.
- Take and support client to her daily community activities, these are physical activities for the carer including walking, ramps, operating and securing a powered wheelchair.
- Taking client in and out of her adaptive vehicle.
- Driving the adaptive vehicle, clean British Manual Driving Licence required. Professional driver training will be provided.
- Food preparation and meal time supervision.
- Administration of all medication in line with prescriptions.
- Administration of epilepsy rescue medication when needed.
- Aid with the Nippy cough medicine 4 times per day.
- Training will be given on all equipment and processes.
Requirements: A DBS will be required prior to commencement of employment.
