We are looking for a caring, reliable, and positive female Personal Care Assistant to support a friendly and fun-loving 24-year-old young lady with learning disabilities in her daily life. This is a rewarding role supporting someone to live independently, enjoy activities, and maintain a good quality of life. The right person will have a great sense of humour, be happy to have a laugh, and bring a positive energy to each day.
Important Requirement
This role is open to female applicants only due to the personal care and hygiene needs of the individual (in line with Equality Act 2010).
Key Responsibilities
- Providing personal care and support with daily routines
- Assisting with moving and handling, including standing transfers (full training will be provided)
- Supporting with outings, appointments, and social activities
- Helping with day-to-day tasks and promoting independence
- Providing companionship and emotional support
- Assisting around animals, including horses
- Administering medication PEG/tube feeding
- Understanding and implementing positive behaviour support
- Supporting with epilepsy care
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle (essential)
- Comfortable around animals, especially horses
- Physically able and confident with moving and handling tasks
- Flexible and reliable, with a willingness to work a mixture of shifts
- Available to work two weekends per month (Saturday & Sunday)
- No smoking/vaping on site
- A good sense of humour and a fun, friendly personality
- Caring, patient, and respectful approach
Working Pattern
- Initially day and evening shifts only, with potential to include nights in the future
- Flexible shifts across the week
- Includes working 2 weekends per month
