The predicted salary is between 12 - 15 £ per hour.

We are looking for a patient, reliable, and encouraging Personal Assistant to support a male teenager with ADHD and a learning disability to build confidence and independence in the community and engage in social activities with other young people of his age. He has a great sense of humour, enjoys football and gaming, and is keen to try new things with the right support. This role suits someone who enjoys being active, is open to new experiences, can offer calm, consistent guidance, and is patient.

To support the young person to access social opportunities, navigate public transport, and take part in community activities that help develop independence. The role involves helping him to plan outings and accompanying him on outings to engage safely with others, encouraging him to try new things, and providing patient, structured guidance tailored to his needs.

Essential

  • Patient, calm, supportive and non‑judgemental
  • Enjoys trying new things and encouraging others to do the same
  • Able to build a positive, trusting relationship with a young person who has a good sense of humour
  • Reliable and consistent
  • Confident using and explaining public transport
  • Able to engage with interests such as gaming
  • Good communication skills and able to give clear, step‑by‑step instructions
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Comfortable to deal with behaviours that may be challenging and understand these require support

Desirable

  • Experience supporting young people with ADHD or learning disabilities
  • Understanding of neurodiversity and person‑centred support

  • First Aid training

Recruitment & Safeguarding Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS check required (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to work checks will be completed
  • References required prior to starting
