Personal Care Assistant for a young man 34 hr/wk@ Β£13.50/hr in Yarm - Yarm - TS15

Personal assistant required 34hrs per week. Β£13.50 per hour

We are looking to recruit a reliable, outgoing person to support a young man in accessing the community and adult day services. He lives with his parents, siblings, and dog in his family home. He requires 2:1 support. He is nonverbal and a wheelchair user.

Duties include

  • Support to get ready for the day and then be transported to day services
  • To be collected from day services later in the afternoon and returned home
  • To be supported with meals, activities, and outings.
  • Supported to attend weekly hydrotherapy sessions (applicants must be comfortable around water)
  • Personal care is required.
  • Administration of medication
  • Some light tasks at home and in the community

Essential

  • Experience in care
  • Driver essential client has access to adapted transport
  • Reliable and outgoing, caring and kind.
  • Enhanced DBS ( cost will be covered by the employer)

Desirable

  • Knowledge of epilepsy and experience with a hoist is desirable; however, full training will be given.

Hours

  • Monday 7:30-9:30 and 2:30-5:50
  • Tuesday 7:30-5:30
  • Wednesday 7:30-9:30 and 2:30-5:30
  • Thursday 7:30-9:30 and 2:30-5:30
  • Friday 7:30-9:30 and 2:30-5:30

There will be a further 4 hours per week to be flexible for outings or family activities.

Occasionally weekend hours may be required
