Support Workers required to support a gentleman who lives in Bishop Middleham and has language issues, significant right‑sided weakness, and some cognitive deficit following a stroke. The person you would be supporting requires hoisting into and out of bed.

Hours & Wage

Approximately 7 hours per week at £13.50 per hour. The role is on a 2:1 basis: two carers are required for all transfers. Calls are required at 8:00‑8:30, 12:00‑12:30 and 7:30‑8:00, seven days a week, and will be shared between three workers. Please indicate your available hours when applying.

Duties

  • Full body wash, dressing, positional change and transfers during morning call.
  • Personal care and positional changes/transfers during lunchtime call.
  • Preparation for bed, personal care, dressing and hoist into bed during afternoon call.
  • Personal and catheter care may be required on all visits as the gentleman is doubly incontinent.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience with using a hoist preferred.
  • Experience caring for people who have had a stroke preferred.
  • Enhanced DBS check required; employer will cover the cost.
