Female Personal Assistant for Spinal Injured Guy 20-hrs pw daytime support – WAKEFIELD – WF2

Person specification
I am looking for someone reliable, energetic, outgoing with a good sense of humour to join my friendly team of PA’s supporting me in living independently.
Some experience of providing care is preferred but not essential. If you have good work ethics and are committed to providing the best care possible with a genuine interest in doing so, I would really like to hear from you.
The role of PA involves assistance with all aspects of daily life, including personal care and domestic tasks, as well as activities such as daily keep fit, wheelchair rugby, cycling, swimming, art & craft projects, gardening, woodwork, socialising, and occasional trips further away.
Regardless of experience, you must be willing to learn how to do the job under my direction and follow advice from experienced PAs. As you progress, you will be expected to work using your own initiative.Full job description available upon request
About me
I have a C5/6 spinal cord injury (broken neck): complete paralysis below the shoulders and partial paralysis of both arms, no hand or finger dexterity, and am wheelchair-bound. Consequently, I need assistance with all aspects of personal care as well as domestic chores—boring!!!
I am an active person who enjoys life with a sense of humour and strives for independence in all I do, regardless of paralysis. I have three lovely PAs providing one-to-one support, and I am now looking for someone new to join my small friendly team.
Training
During an induction/shadow shift, you will be guided through tasks listed in the job description.
Times Required
A typical shift starts at 10:00am – 14:00. Additional daytime hours available.
This is a great opportunity for the right person to learn the role of Personal Assistant to a high standard, possibly leading to full care hours! Where possible, cover holiday leave and absences.
New starter for this vacancy: 5 x 4-hour daytime shifts, plus additional training where necessary.
I look forward to hearing from you
