A personal assistant is required to support a friendly and sociable young woman with a rare medical condition that affects her mobility. The client enjoys being out in the community and is looking for a fun, energetic and reliable PA who can support her to stay active, social and independent.
The role will be primarily community-based, supporting her to access activities she enjoys, spend time with friends, and build her confidence and independence, with some elements of personal care and home support included. The client has a great sense of humour and enjoys animals, art, shopping, music (especially Ed Sheeran). She is keen to meet up with friends and would benefit from a PA who is confident, positive and engaging.
- Building a positive, consistent and trusting relationship.
- Support to access community activities such as shopping, social outings, creative activities and leisure interests.
- Supporting socialising with friends and promoting independence.
- Elements of personal care, including support with showering, dressing and toileting.
- Safe use of equipment, including hoists.
- Supporting safe travel and transfers in and out of vehicles.
- Following agreed care plans, medical guidance and emergency protocols if required.
- Planning and supporting enjoyable, age‑appropriate activities.
- Providing reassurance and support to help the client feel confident and included.
