Position Overview

Support Worker – Family Home | Southport, Merseyside

£20 per hour | 20–25 hours per week

We're looking for two (plus cover staff) warm, patient and genuinely lovely people to join the care team for a funny, charismatic young man in our family home in Southport.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 10am–2/3pm, plus two evenings per month (flexible by arrangement).

Training & Duration

Full training provided. Long-term position.

About the Young Person

He's a teenager with a brilliant sense of humour who will absolutely keep you on your toes. He's non-speaking but communicates confidently through sounds, PECS and Makaton. He has complex health needs and a learning disability, and he shares his home with a dog and a cat he adores — animal lovers very welcome.

Qualifications

  • Experience with learning disabilities and complex needs is essential.
  • A background in mental health nursing, general nursing, children's residential care, support work or social work is a real bonus.
  • Makaton knowledge helpful but full training given.
