Personal Assistant for a person with physical & mental health needs. Part time - set 30 hours/week - £15.60/hr. Additional hours may occasionally be required to cover holiday.
Support focuses on:
- Personal care
- Health and medical needs
- Daily living activities, including personal care, cooking, social activities, providing engaging activities at home
- Ensure the home environment is clean, safe, and comfortable
Key Responsibilities
- Follow individual care plans, risk assessments, and health protocols
- Assist with personal hygiene and dressing
- Support with medication
- Promote independence and choice wherever possible
- Encourage individual to engage in preferred activities and community outings
- Record health information, behaviour patterns and report concerns promptly to the Team Leader
Behavioral & Emotional Support
- Provide reassurance and calming strategies when the person experiences anxiety or distress
- Recognise behavioural cues and respond appropriately using positive behaviour support techniques
- Encourage engagement in preferred activities
Communication & Engagement
- Use knowledge of client's verbal communication and behavioural cues to meet her needs
- Support social inclusion and community access, while managing risks and triggers
- Promote dignity, respect, and choice at all times
Safeguarding & Legal Compliance
- Work in line with the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Equality Act 2010
- Safeguard the individual from harm, abuse, or neglect
- Maintain confidentiality
Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate daily notes, medication records, and incident reports
- Ensure risk assessments and care plans are followed and updated as directed
