About the Role

I am looking for a reliable, friendly and proactive Personal Assistant to provide practical support around my home.

This is a domestic support role rather than personal care, helping me keep on top of household tasks so I can continue working and managing day-to-day life.

I work from home three days a week, so I'm looking for someone who is happy to work independently, using their own initiative while I'm working.

Duties

  • Collect used cups, plates and other items from the sitting room and bedroom and take them to the kitchen.
  • Empty the dishwasher.
  • Put away clean dishes.
  • Load and start the dishwasher.
  • Tidy and wipe down kitchen worktops.
  • Empty the kitchen bin when required.
  • Empty the commode bin.
  • Wipe down the commode (liners are used, so only a quick surface clean is required).
  • Take items upstairs as needed.
  • Open any curtains that are still closed and, where appropriate, open windows.
  • Occasionally help me put on compression socks during colder weather.
  • Some Visits
  • Put away grocery deliveries (fridge and freezer items will already have been put away before you arrive).
  • Basic meal preparation, such as chopping vegetables.
  • Load the washing machine.
  • Move washing from the washing machine to the tumble dryer.
  • Empty the tumble dryer.
  • Hang up, fold and put away clean laundry.
  • Change bed linen.
  • Help with occasional decluttering and household organisation.

About You

  • Reliable, trustworthy and punctual.
  • Friendly and approachable.
  • Organised and able to work independently.
  • Happy to use their own initiative and get on with tasks without constant direction.
  • Comfortable working in a home with several flights of stairs and carrying household items between floors.
  • Comfortable around cats.
  • Previous care or domestic support experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Ideally up to date with any COVID-19 vaccinations they are eligible to receive.

A driving licence is not essential. If you do drive, a visitor parking permit can be arranged.

About Me

I live with my husband and our two cats.

I work from home three days a week and enjoy crochet, knitting, cross stitch, reading and gaming in my spare time.

I identify as queer, non-binary and Pagan, so it is important to me that my Personal Assistant is respectful, inclusive and open-minded.

I'm looking for someone who is non-judgemental and comfortable working in an LGBTQ+ affirming home where everyone is treated with kindness and respect.

  • Additional Information
  • This role does not involve washing, dressing or toileting support.
  • No medication administration is required.
  • There is a key safe at the property, and the successful applicant will be given their own access code.
  • Additional privately funded hours may occasionally be available.
  • A DBS check is not required for this role.

If you're looking for a flexible role supporting someone to maintain their home and would enjoy working in a welcoming, inclusive household, I'd love to hear from you.
