Are you energetic, caring and looking for a rewarding role supporting a child to enjoy fun activities in the community? A cheerful and active 7-year-old boy with Autism is looking for a dedicated Personal Assistant to provide 2:1 support whilst accessing leisure activities in and around the local community. This young boy has lots of energy and loves getting out and about. He always requires close supervision as he has no awareness of danger and can be impulsive and unpredictable. Because of this, he can find it difficult to play independently alongside other children. Your role would be to help him safely enjoy activities, explore new experiences, and have fun while always ensuring his safety and wellbeing.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience of supporting children or young people with Autism
- Understanding of challenging behaviour and positive support strategies
- Patient, calm, and reliable approach
- Enthusiastic and able to keep up with an energetic young boy
- Ability to build a positive and trusting relationship
- A genuine desire to help a child reach their full potential
Essential Requirements:
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Access to your own vehicle
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Suitable references
Main Duties:
- Supporting access to social and leisure activities
- Encouraging participation in fun, age-appropriate activities
- Supporting community outings
- Promoting confidence, enjoyment, and positive experiences
- Ensuring safety and wellbeing at all times
