About the role

We’re looking for a dedicated Care/Support Worker to join one of our friendly teams of Personal Assistants in the Blackburn area to support a client with Cerebral Palsy. The role involves assisting with clinical care, personal support, companionship and community activities. You will help the client live independently and confidently in their own home.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with clinical care and personal support, including showering, drying, dressing and medication administration.
  • Provide companionship and support with community outings, including walks, coffee and swimming.
  • Be the client’s key point of contact both at home and in the community.
  • Support the client’s daily living and independence.

Requirements

  • Self‑motivated, well‑organised, reliable and an excellent team player.
  • Experience with positive behaviour management and supporting anxiety.
  • Experience in personal care and medication administration.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness.
  • Full clean driving licence and age over 25 to drive the client’s wheelchair‑accessible vehicle.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS check.

Additional client‑specific requirements:

  • Must be mindful of any animal hair on clothing due to client allergies; perfume or scented sprays are not permitted.
  • Dogs are present in the family household.

Contracted hours

Your contracted hours will be 10.75 hours per week. Week 1: Friday 6 pm‑10:30 pm and Saturday 9 am‑5 pm. Week 2: Friday and Saturday 6 pm‑10:30 pm.

Training

All training is provided and will consist of e‑learning courses, face‑to‑face sessions, practical training, clinical training and competency assessments. Training is bespoke to the client and fully comprehensive, with refresher training on a regular basis to keep your knowledge and skills current.
