Salary & Hours
£17.34 per hour on weekdays, £21.06 per hour on weekends (average £18.40/hr). Hours are contracted for a minimum of approximately 24 hours per week, with occasional holiday or absence cover.

Overview
Provide one‑to‑one and occasional two‑to‑one support to a 57‑year‑old male client with a brain injury. The role focuses on safety, health care routines, daily living, and enabling participation in domestic, recreational and vocational activities within his home environment.
Key Duties
- Ensure the client’s safety at all times.
- Take reasonable care for your own safety and the safety of others affected by your actions or omissions at work.
- Work consistently in line with detailed support plans and risk assessments, using situational assessment and decision‑making.
- Support the client in achieving positive outcomes in personal and healthcare routines, activities of daily living, domestic duties, recreational, vocational and community activities, and record keeping.
- Carry out any other appropriate and reasonable duties as directed.
- Actively participate in and complete training and supervision required for the role.
- Administer medication and apply topical treatments as required, following training, certification and assessment.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Prior care experience.
- Experience working with brain injury or associated conditions.
- Strong observational skills and awareness of verbal and non‑verbal communication.
- Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support, de‑escalation techniques and challenging behaviour management.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience supporting adults in their own homes or residential settings.
- Certificate in Care Level 2/3 or equivalent.
- Up‑to‑date care training, including health & safety, safeguarding, first aid, moving & handling, medication, MCA/DoLS and GDPR.
- Ability to support participation in basic DIY, woodworking, and recreational activities such as pool and table tennis.
- Basic IT skills.

Other Requirements
- Enhanced Certificate of Disclosure (DBS) with barred list is required; employer will obtain it if applicable.
