We are seeking one summer holiday warden assistant (July 20th to Aug 31st 2026). Beech Estate Campsite is set on a beautiful private 600 acre woodland. We have thirty camping pitches, including eight bell tents. We operate low noise, family-oriented campsites and no cars are allowed on site. We offer the closest thing to wild camping, with the added luxury of basic facilities. There is mains drinking water and running hot water, but no electricity.
This short-term, off-grid role is perfect for a single person or a couple who love the outdoors, are happy to get stuck in, and enjoy being part of a small, friendly team.
Hours: 10-20 hours per week (hours based on the site’s cleaning and changeover schedule). Candidates will need to be flexible and willing to help out when needed during busy periods. The role runs for six weeks over the summer holidays and focuses mainly on cleaning and upkeep of the campsite.
Responsibilities:
- Daily cleaning tasks - toilets, showers, and bell tents
- Tidying communal areas and keeping the site presentable
- Assisting with guest arrivals and general support when needed
- Helping with basic maintenance or grounds work
- Taking the campsite phone one night per week to cover any emergency call-outs
This is a hands-on outdoor role where attention to detail and a friendly attitude make a big difference.
What We Offer:
- A large shared pitch for your own campervan or caravan
- Or, we can provide an off-grid caravan accommodation
- Pitch includes running water, your own compost toilet, a gas hob, and gazebo
- Private fire-pit area
- Staff firewood allowance provided
- A unique lifestyle experience surrounded by 600 acres of beautiful private woodland
- The chance to live and work in a peaceful, off-grid environment
- Supportive managers and wardens who will make you feel part of the team
You’ll Need:
- Your own vehicle (the campsite is a few miles from shops)
- A love of nature, camping, and outdoor living
- To be comfortable living off-grid (no electricity, limited solar power)
- A detailed and efficient approach to cleaning
- To be physically fit - the role includes manual work and our campsite covers 20 acres
- A friendly and welcoming approach to customers and colleagues
- A team player with a willingness to help out when needed
