UKAS is seeking a Director of Business Development to lead and deliver our business development and key account management strategy across the organisation. This pivotal role will help build UKAS’s commercial offering as the leading global accreditation body while remaining firmly rooted in our public interest mission.

The role involves driving sustainable growth through hands-on senior client engagement, strategic account development and practical go-to-market planning. Working closely with the Executive Team and Section Directors, you will set the standard for how UKAS engages with the market and support the organisation’s continued evolution towards a more customer-aware, commercially confident culture.

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead senior-level business development and long-cycle sales activity.
  • Shape and support go-to-market plans across UKAS services.
  • Identify, develop and manage strategic and key accounts.
  • Act as a trusted commercial advisor across the organisation.
  • Build sales capability and confidence through coaching and leadership by influence.

About you:

  • Significant senior business development experience within TIC, conformity assessment, certification, inspection, testing or related sectors.
  • Strong track record of senior client engagement in complex, regulated environments.
  • Able to lead through influence, with credibility, empathy and sound judgement.
  • Resilient, collaborative and confident representing UKAS externally.
