The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Credit Controller to join our Finance Team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role plays a key role in maintaining strong cash flow and supporting the organisation's financial health.
You will be responsible for managing cash collection across a portfolio of approximately 550 active customers, ensuring timely payments and building effective working relationships both internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities- Debt Collection
- Proactively chase overdue invoices via phone, email, and written correspondence
- Negotiate and manage payment plans where appropriate
- Issue dunning letters and monitor aged debt
- Escalate cases in line with credit control policy, including legal proceedings when necessary
- Perform account reconciliations and maintain accurate records
- Take ownership of customer queries and drive timely resolution
- Manage withholding tax requirements
- Liaise with internal teams to resolve billing or account issues
- Obtain certificates of residency for overseas customers
- Identify and recommend system and process improvements
- Support initiatives to optimise cash collection and reduce aged debt
We are looking for someone who brings:
- At least 2–3 years’ experience in a credit control or accounts receivable role
- Proven experience across core credit control activities
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with stakeholders at all levels
- Working towards a qualification with the Chartered Institute of Credit Management (CICM) would be advantageous.
