UKAS is seeking an experienced Accreditation Specialist - Product Certification to provide expert technical leadership across product, service and process certification. You will manage and deliver accreditation activities, support sector development, and work closely with government, industry and international stakeholders to ensure UKAS services remain relevant, compliant and fit for purpose.
Key responsibilities
- Manage relationships with government, industry, internal stakeholders and customers.
- Support management in technical and operational management, including accreditation decisions and contract reviews.
- Monitor and improve accreditation processes, policies and technical requirements.
- Lead and deliver accreditation assessments against ISO/IEC 17065 and UKAS requirements.
- Contribute to international committees and external affairs, promoting the UK accreditation model.
- Support development projects and the transition of new schemes into operational delivery.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring and oversight to Assessment Managers and Assessors across the business.
Essential experience and knowledge
- In-depth knowledge of ISO/IEC 17065.
- Strong understanding of regulatory product marking regimes, particularly UKCA and CE marking.
- Proven experience in product, service and process certification, with awareness of management systems certification.
- Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17021 would be desirable, but not essential.
This is a key technical role offering the opportunity to influence accreditation practice nationally and internationally while supporting the continued development of UKAS services.
