Role Purpose
Lead the Finance workstream across Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations programmes, combining Finance SME expertise, solution ownership, and delivery leadership to drive high‐quality, standardised, and business‐aligned solutions. Acts as a trusted advisor to clients and a senior leader within the practice.
Key Accountabilities
1. Finance Solution Leadership
- Own the end-to-end Finance solution across D365 F&O programmes
- Translate business requirements into scalable, standardised solutions aligned to Microsoft best practice
- Lead Finance design decisions and contribute to Design Authority / Architecture governance
- Champion adoption of out-of-the-box functionality over customisation
2. Programme Delivery
- Accountable for Finance workstream delivery across scope, quality, timeline, and budget
- Lead key activities: Fit-Gap, functional design, configuration, testing, data migration, and training
- Identify and manage delivery and functional risks, ensuring proactive mitigation and escalation
- Collaborate across multi-disciplinary, onshore/offshore teams to deliver integrated outcomes
3. Client Engagement & Pre-sales
- Act as primary Finance contact for senior client stakeholders
- Lead workshops, solution walkthroughs, and demonstrations
- Support and drive pre-sales, including estimation, solution shaping, and proposals
- Provide Finance transformation advisory, including process optimisation and solution selection
4. People & Practice Leadership
- Mentor and develop Managers and Consultants
- Drive capability development, including emerging areas (AI, RPA, Power Platform)
- Contribute to reusable assets, methodologies, and knowledge development
- Support training and adoption initiatives for both internal teams and clients
Core Skills & Knowledge
Functional Expertise
- Strong experience across D365 Finance modules (GL, Fixed Assets, Cash & Bank, Budgeting, Tax)
- Deep understanding of end-to-end finance processes (R2R, P2P, O2C, A2D)
- Ability to define business process maps and translate into system solutions
Technical & Delivery Awareness
- High-level understanding of D365 architecture and ecosystem (e.g. integrations, data, Azure DevOps)
- Experience delivering multiple end-to-end D365 implementations
Consulting & Leadership Skills
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing capabilities
- Excellent presentation, workshop facilitation, and demonstration skills
- Proven ability to lead distributed teams and complex programmes
- Effective in risk management, decision-making, and escalation handling
Qualifications
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or IT-related field
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) preferred
- Microsoft D365 Finance certification desirable
